Trouble Accessing Some Websites with your ISP?

25 January 2008
I've been having trouble accessing the BPI online website the past few days. After checking with the other PCs at home I figured it's not the Mac because they can't access it either. So that leaves the router and the ISP (we're using Smart Bro). Now, this geek stuff is beyond me. I swear I was thisclose to tearing my hair out.
I consulted our resident network expert at work and he directed me to this site. And miracle of miracles, it worked! All I had to do was to change my DNS server settings.
Too bad, I almost *almost* had a reason to pre-order a Time Capsule
It's 1 Tb (that's 1000 Gb) of external memory that you can access wirelessly using WiFi. And it's also an 802.11 b/g/n router. ^^ I've been wanting to get one since it was launched (amidst the marketing hype that surrounded the Macbook Air).

I figured that if my current router is causing me pain then I should go get one (so the Time Capsule becomes a necessity). But now that I'm no longer having problems there's no reason for me to buy a new router and what little EQ I have I'm saving for the pink iPod. I guess I'll have to wait a tad bit longer for this one.

  1. yup. yan nga yun. hehe. ako rin naka static DNS eh, minsan kasi nawawala yung mga reference sa a-records ng local DNS ng ISP. Or baka kasi SmartBro gamit mo? haha
