My First MAC Quad

When I first started out on makeup MAC was one of the first brands I obsessed over, but it's only now that I've actually completed an eyeshadow quad - for the longest time I only had one or two pots. It just took a while (years, actually) before I finally got the hang of eye make-up, no thanks to my weird eye shape. But now I'm learning to work around that, so I thought I'd assemble a nice basic eyeshadow quad.

I'm quite (pleasantly) surprised that the colors I picked out actually go together, what with me being a noob and all.

Brule (satin) is a nice creamy color which is very similar to my skintone, so I use it mainly to even out my lid (I have dark lids and people often assume I'm wearing eyeshadow when I'm not).

Cork (satin) is the very first MAC shadow I ever bought, and I actually don't even know what I was thinking at the time - what do you do with a single brown eyeshadow? But it's a nice mid-tone brown that goes with a lot of other colors.

Shadowy lady (matte) is a pretty dark purply color which is great as a soft liner, or as a crease color. It's a bit splotchy, though, so it's not something you can pack on.

All that glitters (veluxe pearl) was recommended to me by the MAC make-up artist when I told her I wanted a nice all-over lid color. I didn't expect to like this, really, because it's so shimmery, but it turned out to be gorgeous!

Now I'm tempted to make another quad. Maybe this time more adventurous?
