It may not be the rarest or most precious of all gemstones, but chalcedony is special to me. ^^

I've consciously refrained from lurking at Esty - there's just too much good stuff in there and that can't be good for my wallet. But when I found out it is bristling with chalcedony jewelry I could not resist. After a bit of scouting I settled on an aqua blue round chalcedony ring set in hammered gold from this shop called Delezhen.

Friday Favorites: Logos Quiz

More like Friday addiction, really.

It reminds me of one of those Excel quiz-type games - the one where you guess the song title, or the Tagalog translation, or the jingle.

The premise is so incredibly simple: guess the brand logo. Easy peasy, right?

When everybody else is getting out of bed I'm usually getting in it

I'm not in it to win it

I'm in it for you ;)

That moment when you step into a gorgeous pair of shoes, and they look pretty darn good on you...

And then you try to walk but can't. Aaaaaaargh.

Monday Shopping

See, this is what happens when I don't go shopping during the weekend. Err, actually it happens even if I do go shopping. So in summary, this just happens.

I blame The Body Shop's Buy 2 Get 1 Free promo, and MakeupAlley for all the positive reviews on the Soap & Glory stuff, which, after the resounding success that is Hand Food, I am now addicted to.

If you listen hard enough, you can hear my wallet sniffling in the background.

I Moved!

I've always wanted to get my own domain name; I just didn't think it would be possible. As it turns out I was just being lazy, as always :p

I'm keeping everything intact, so nothing should change apart from the url, but I'm super excited! Now pretend to be excited for me as well and update your bookmarks. Welcome to! ^^

I've been making an effort to keep my spending in check (and failing miserably), but all hell just breaks loose upon entering Sephora. It's just rows upon rows of pretty.

My First MAC Quad

When I first started out on makeup MAC was one of the first brands I obsessed over, but it's only now that I've actually completed an eyeshadow quad - for the longest time I only had one or two pots. It just took a while (years, actually) before I finally got the hang of eye make-up, no thanks to my weird eye shape. But now I'm learning to work around that, so I thought I'd assemble a nice basic eyeshadow quad.

I'm quite (pleasantly) surprised that the colors I picked out actually go together, what with me being a noob and all.

Brule (satin) is a nice creamy color which is very similar to my skintone, so I use it mainly to even out my lid (I have dark lids and people often assume I'm wearing eyeshadow when I'm not).

Cork (satin) is the very first MAC shadow I ever bought, and I actually don't even know what I was thinking at the time - what do you do with a single brown eyeshadow? But it's a nice mid-tone brown that goes with a lot of other colors.

Shadowy lady (matte) is a pretty dark purply color which is great as a soft liner, or as a crease color. It's a bit splotchy, though, so it's not something you can pack on.

All that glitters (veluxe pearl) was recommended to me by the MAC make-up artist when I told her I wanted a nice all-over lid color. I didn't expect to like this, really, because it's so shimmery, but it turned out to be gorgeous!

Now I'm tempted to make another quad. Maybe this time more adventurous?

Flavor of the Month: March Favorites

Just stuff I've been obsessed with this month, starting off with the schlepping bag:

I've had this bag for more than two months now, and I am completely in love with it - I carried it practically every day last month. It's just so easy - it carries all my junk, it goes with everything, and I don't have to worry about it too much. I don't think I'll every be ready for a bag that requires pampering; I'd rather have something I can use the hell out of. The straps are beginning to show signs of wear though - just some minor creasing, no flaking, thank goodness -  but they've also become softer and I like it when my bags look worn as opposed to spankin' new.

Friday Favorites: Tweetbot

If you're a Twitter addict (who isn't?) and you have $2.99 to spare, you have to download Tweetbot. Like, NOW.

I'm usually hesitant to download paid apps (like everyone else, yes?), especially when there's a free equivalent out there that does pretty much the same thing, but I am willing to shell out a couple of bucks for really well-designed software.

For the night is dark, and full of terrors

I believe George RR Martin is a troll. A scheming manipulative troll with a bad case of mental block. And everyday I pray to the Seven to keep him alive until books six and seven are released.

I'm thankful I only discovered The Song of Ice and Fire when the TV series came out. Had I discovered it back in 1997, when Game of Thrones was first published, I would probably have gone mad by now. Patience is not the strongest of my virtues.
